As a former US diplomat (Minister-Counselor rank), I have vast, “real world” experience across the globe as a leader, mentor, coach, and problem-solver .

I’m a subject matter expert (SME) in the areas of strategic power competition, information operations (IO), irregular warfare (IW), narrative warfare, influence tradecraft, and emerging technologies,

Currently, I’m a contractor with the US Department of War’s Irregular Warfare Center as Editor-in-Chief of PRISM: The Journal of Emerging Threats | Complex Statecraft, and as an Senior Scholar, Instructor, and Course Designer. I’m also an East Central Europe Course Instructor (contractor) with the US State Department’s National Foreign Affairs Training Center (NFATC) and a Research Fellow with Arizona State University’s (ASU) Future Security Initiative and Professor of Practice with ASU’s School of Politics and Global Studies; Non-Resident Senior Fellow with the Global & National Security Institute (GNSI), Non-Resident Fellow with the Irregular Warfare Initiative’s (IWI) Europe Program, and Senior Diplomacy Fellow with Narrative-Strategies. Additionally, I serve as a guest speaker and lecturer at US and international universities, and US professional military education (PME) institutions. I’ve also spoken on several podcasts and have published extensively.

I have a PhD in War & Defense Studies from King’s College London and Master’s degrees from the National War College and American University. My book on Russia’s IW activities in Syria and Ukraine is available from Bloomsbury, Amazon, Waterstones, etc.

I’m a member of the American Foreign Service Association (AFSA), Baltimore Council on Foreign Affairs (BCFA), Information Professionals Association (IPA), and Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA). Additionally, I’m a member of the international advisory board of the Swiss-based Ukraine Foundation, a board member of Joint Special Operations University (JSOU) Press, and The Academy, the premier institute for Cyberpsychology, Influence Warfare, Counterintelligence, Intelligence Tradecraft, & Cognitive Warfare.
